I am someone who overthinks when there really is little to worry about and during the past fortnight, I’ve had quite a few opportunities to do so. However, the biggest worry that was on my mind was a. how my family would react and b. how Lucy would react to the current happenings.
Lucy and I finally met for coffee which turned into lunch, which turned into a fully fledged girls shopping day and you know what? I had absolutely nothing to worry about. It was a wonderful moment of clarity when I realised I had a supportive friend sitting right beside me all along, and not one who had been swept up by gossip and Chinese whispers.
Since our day together I have felt a weight fall off my shoulders and although I have lost friends, I have also figured out who my true friends are and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
This blog is a fashion and lifestyle blog so without going on too much about my personal life, I thought I would share with you this week my shoe haul from my shopping trip with Lucy. Three pairs of Primark specials which should be a staple and striking addition to any wardrobe.
1. The snakeskin print boot.
This chunky heeled beauty pairs perfectly with darker jean or a light pair for the spring months making this pair a great transitional piece as we enter spring seasonal trends.
2. Brogue style ballet pumps.
I have been after a pair of black flat shoes that don’t feel like I’m walking around with a thin piece of card under my feet and these shoes although needing a severe walking in as they’re quite stiff, have a padded sole which is comfortable and practical. As the warmer months arrive these would pair nicely with a pair of lighter coloured paper bag waist trousers, jeans, or even a maxi skirt.
3. The holiday pair.
Feeling the need for a warmer climate, I bought myself a pair of orange chunky heeled open toed shoes in the hope that I’ll either get to wear them on my next trip abroad or in this country as the weather warms up. These could pair nicely with a shirt dress or summer blouse and jeans for a more dressed down casual look.
Until next time.
